Data Handling, Cookies and Account Security

satkamtka applies layered security measures across every part of the data lifecycle — from the moment you submit your phone number during registration through to archival after account closure.

Encryption at Rest and in Transit

All data stored on our servers — including your UPI virtual payment address and Paytm wallet references — is encrypted using AES-256. Data moving between your device and our platform travels over TLS 1.3 so it cannot be intercepted in transit.

Cookie Policy and Consent

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep your session active, analytics cookies to understand lobby usage patterns, and preference cookies to remember your language and device settings. You can withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.

Account Access Controls

Your satkamtka account is protected by a password you set and, where enabled, a one-time password sent to your registered phone. We never ask for your PIN or full payment credentials via email or chat — any such request should be reported immediately.

Data Retention Timelines

Active account data is retained for the duration of your account plus six years after closure, in line with financial-record obligations under Indian law. Marketing preference data is deleted within 90 days of you withdrawing consent. Anonymised analytics data may be kept longer.

Third-Party Processors

We share only the minimum data necessary with payment processors (UPI rails, Paytm, PhonePe), identity verification partners and cloud infrastructure providers. Each processor is bound by a data-processing agreement that prohibits them from using your data for their own purposes.

Requesting Changes to Your Record

You have the right to access a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, object to certain processing, and request deletion where no legal hold applies. Submit requests via the in-account Help Centre or our privacy email and we will confirm the outcome in writing.

Financial transaction records must be kept for six years under Indian law and cannot be deleted before that period ends.
